Describing Photographs

The First photograph shows a man in a canoe on a lake of glass. It's a picture of the man making his way down the lake and as he goes it turns to glass. In this picture you can see a nature scene in the background, shards of glass in the foreground, and the man in the canoe in the midground. The man looks almost confused yet still calm and the viewers attention is focused on the midground. Its an expressive photo and makes you wonder what the photographers intentions behind it are. The photographer probably is trying to show that the path you make affects things and causes an impact.

The next photo shows a small house on a lake, however, under the water it shows that the house is the top of a giant fish that is hidden under the surface. In the middle there is the fish and house and then on the left along with the right you can see mountains and greenery. The fish looks lifeless and the small amount of land on top with the house looks very peaceful. The photo's meaning is probably an attempt to send the message that don't be so quick to judge based off of what's on the surface.

The third photo shows a man pulling a slay with frozen blocks of fish while hes holding a chainsaw. It appears hes dragging it along a frozen lake and was just using the chainsaw to fish for the frozen ones in the ice. The man looks unhappy and there are lots of dull tones because of the majority of the picture having ice, due to it being winter time. The man walking is the foreground, and the midground is the ice covered lake, along with those is the background which is the skyline and the trees on the left and right of it. I think the photos meaning is that you should always think outside the box and be creative in everything you do.

In this next photo there is a man in a bath robe walking out of a random door in a field, on his way to another door sitting in the field. Both doors are open and glowing to bring focus to them in contrast against the dark night sky in the surrounding areas. In the foreground is a grassy area that's very dim compared to the two doors in the midground and the starry night sky in the background. The viewer's attention is focused on the glowing doors which cause the viewer to want to know more about what's beyond them and what lies within them. The meaning to this photograph could be one of two things, either that although on the surface it may look peaceful be careful where you wander. However, it could also be that the photographer wants his/her viewers to wonder what lies within and use their imagination to create their own ideas and thoughts as to what is beyond the doors.

Onto the following photo, this image displays an up close view of boots along with a man in the background positioned to look like he's in the boots. There are clouds and a sunset in the background. Then on the left is the right shoe with a man behind and on the right is more scenery. The man looks like he is looking at something and the tones and color in this photo are very peaceful and calm. I think the author wanted the viewer to see this photo as an illusion of the man being inside the shoes.

The sixth image shows a road that becomes a cliff drop off and in the picture there is a man who was biking along the road now looking over the edge because of the sudden drop off. However the image is an illusion because although there is a cliff at the end of the road the road in the middle, the fence on the left and nature on the outer edges of the photo all continue down as if there isn't a cliff. This appears to confuse the man in the picture and the author probably intended for it to confuse the reader and attract the attention to that spot.

The last image shows a canvas on the edge of what looks to be a lake, however, the canvas is a painting of a man painting it and as the painting goes off the canvas the man's legs become realistic. So the top half of the man is on the canvas as the painting and the bottom is displaying the realism of the photograph. The focus and midground is the man, on the left are some rocks on the edge of the water with a tree seen in the far background, and on the right are more rocks.
